As a family we walk quite a lot. Today we decided to take our new shopping bags and go to The ' shop shops' . It was quite an adventure getting our bags ready and discussing what were going to buy. Life is so simple when your 2!!!

Today we went for a walk butterfly hunting. We took our fishing nets and pretended to spot butterflies in the long grass. Daisy did spot one and spent ages running around trying to catch it. Sunny days are great!!!

WE are lucky enough to live in the lakes District, so lots of lovely walks on our door step. Whole family went for a walk today, it's amazing how kids who seem grumpy and tired can be tranformed the minute they get outside. The girls raced up the hill and we had a dry but windy picnic on top. On the way down we had a bug hunt and challanged the girls to find us different kinds of tree. My almost 6 year old has decided she want to climb great Gable with Daddy next weekend as she it's the name of her school house group and she hasn't been up that mountain yet.

We went for a 2 hr walk at Virginia water near Egham. http://www.theroyallandscape.co.uk/landscape/virginiawater/ You can walk all around the lake which is over 4 miles. Or you could do what we did on a hot and sunny day, walk part of the way and turn back. It is interesting what you notice on the way back that didn't register the first time you walked that way. The Sky,trees and Lakes/ponds looked so vast and beautiful The amazing thing is that we have just noticed this place even though it is 40 mins away from our home. It comes with all the trimmings-Coffee shop, gift shop and ice ice cream vans. The girls walked a long way without noticing-Result!

We went on a very long lion hunt. There are 50 lions all around Bournemouth all painted by different artists, we visited 10 of them through the gardens and surrounding area and had a lovely walk.

We are loving walking and although we are used to doing a short 1 mile walk with our dog, this challenge has encouraged us to use our imagination and walk more. Today we have walked 3.4miles. Went on a geocache hunt, which took us to the local duck pond where we fed and played for abit, then walked to near where we used to live and played stone throwing on a bridge/river. Then ran some errands at Tesco on the way home. The boys were exhausted but happy.

We had lots of fun and got very muddy. :) (photo is our dog Jessie who loves to grab sticks... think this was taking the mick a little bit LOL)

We recently went on holiday to Hayling Island. We took a lovely walk hunting for geocaches near my boys Great Grandma's house. Not only did they walk to the beautiful place called the kench (in the photo) we walked back home through the Gun Site and took time to learn about what the site was used for during WW2. Hayling was used to distract on coming planes and therefore protect Portsmouth. We thought about where soilders would have eated their lunch and slept using the information signs. We spent time thinking about the men named on the plaque too. Lovely views.

This is a great challenge for us. I'd love to do more walking but if I suggest it I'm normally greeted with groans! However we came up with the brilliant idea of offfering to walk our neighbour's dog ....and so we had a long walk which everyone said went really quick we were having so much fun. Great to get the fresh air and revisit some lovely parts of our community we haven't seen for a while!

We play a great game we call Walk, Walk, Run, Run. We all hold hands and one person calls out, walk, walk, walk, walk, RUN! And everyone in the row has to obey. Very fun and got us all active!!!

We took our two year old out for walks two days running. He loves to walk anyway and will often stand at the front door shouting 'walk'. Rather than the usual walk to the local park or shops etc. On the first day we walked to a local farm and then used the pathways on the land at the farm to take some more rural walks spotting various animals along the way. The second day we went to Weston and walked all along the front and the peir. Unfortunately the weather was bad but we doned our wellies and raincoats and had a great time!

The boys love being out and about so this challenge fits us well! We went for a long walk in the local woods where the boys climbed trees, built dens and found a massive puddle to drench themselves in! It was a soggy walk back to the car. Already have the next walk planned along a local stream for stream walking.

We walked for miles today - up a huge hill for a physio appt for me but I got the day wrong! So we walked a charity shop route, picking up some goodies on the way. Shared a pot of tea at the Avon Gorge Hotel in the shade with wonderful views then went to the camera obscura and the caves by the suspension bridge. The caves come out at a metal balcony half way up the cliff and our legs were jelly - neither of us like heights! Then it was up hundreds of steps to the camera obscura where you can squish people with your fingers. Down the hill to a very nice pizza then home via the museum and HMV to buy a couple of dvd's to round off the day. Our legs ache!

this is yesterdays entry. i didn't get a chance to get onto the pc until now. willow, tatum and myself walked into town to go to the fruit and veg market. willow probably walked double the distance, as she would run ahead, then run back to me, and kept up like this the whole way ;-). tatum managed to walk about a 1/4 of the way back home. not bad for a 14 month old.

Today me, Alfie and our friends Nikki and Skye went on an adventure walk, we started at the park where we all had fun playing on swings, roundabout and slide etc... then we walked down to the forest where we were looking for animals and the sounds they make. Then we walked through to the fields where we found some mushrooms, Alfie was rather impressed lol. We saw the horses and then walked back through a corn field where we explained what the corn was for!!! We went back though forest to park where we all played again. All in all was a very fun walk xxxx
