I started going to church 2 weeks ago. Its been years since I have been but i have decided i would like to start going again and also when i am settled in take my girls to sunday school. The vicar has been very kind and has taken the time each week to welcome me back to church. So last sunday I baked a loaf of bread for the vicar. I took it still hot to church along with a pot of homemade jam. I wrote a little note inside thanking him for making me feel so welcome. I wasnt sure if it was quite appropriate but it felt right. It seems that i was meant to do this as it was his 2nd anniversary of being vicar of the parish and no one had remembered. There had also been a slight argument at the sunday school the week before and i think he was feeling a little challenged. It seems like my small offering really hit the spot. So small gestures can really make a difference to someones day.
today I have had a huge clear out and took things to the charity shop; I decided this time though to include a purse with coins in and a note to the finder to say this was a random act of kindness and a flyer about the BFC
I held the door open for a Grandma with a buggy today. The buggy looked heavy and the baby was crying.
When my friend fell and hurt her herself, I asked her if she was ok and when she said no, I helped her up and held her hand and walked her to her Mummy.
We decided to give our friend a lift home because it was pouring with rain and the walk wouldve been 30mins.
Mummy was feeling very tired, so after dinner we took all the plates and cups into the kitchen and put them ready to wash up. Mummy said a big thank-you.
I baked a cake to give to a friend who loves home baked food but rarely bakes for herself. My first cake in over 3 years and even if it tastes terrible it was lovely to bake and made me think lovely warm thoughts of the friend and all the lovely things she has done for me!
Me, my son (7), my mum and my sister recently organised a fundraiser locally for Sand Rose a bereavement charity. They helped me and my son when my fiance died very suddenly so I wanted to give something back to them, we raised over £300 and as a small guesture, I sent them 2 teddies that I had personalised t-shirts made for, to remind them of how wonderful their services were!! Sandy and Rosie are now office mascots! The people who work there send us a wonderful kind letter of thanks!
I let a friend leave some furniture at my house until she is able to make room for them in her own
Walked a friends dog along with ours to save them the job
We sent some cakes to a neighbour after we'd made them, it was such a lovely feeling seeing their face! :)
gave lady a stamp to post her letter so she didnt need to wait in the queue
I did a friends shopping for her as she was tired after a fraught weekend
I paid remainder of strangers car parking fee when he ran out of change Big smile back in return
Sat chatting to some of the elderly residents at the care home I was doing an event at this afternoon. So many of them rarely see their families and their faces lit up when I sat next to them. Laura got Daniel dressed today too, she knew I was in a rush and thought it would help x
I picked up a young mans shopping he had dropped and he told me 'thanks even my own mum wouldnt do that for me' I feel old but good!
