We chose 'Tangled' (Rapunzel).....has to be one of the most magical Disney films around!! Not only our daughters' favourite but ours too. Very funny and feel-good. Have to admit, we had already seen this film at the cinema when it first came out and loved it, but it was just as good second time around. No popcorn, nachos or ice-cream though
..... we opted for chocolate cake!
We went out to Asda, chose our DVD, bought popcorn, special fizzy (Orangade) and sweets. Pulled out sofa beds, our favourite blankets from our Granda, with out special pillows and teddies and sat down for a DVD night of Toy Story 2. We went to bed really late. I sat through the whole film, Eddie got abit bored near the end but enjoyed pretending to be Buzz Lightyear.
It was so much fun, I want to do it every week now. :)
We watched Hoodwinked in our cinema - cuddled up on the sofa with loads of cushions and blankets - we can't eat popcorn in the front room at the moment because we have mice.
Tof says he liked it when the squirrel ate the coffee because he was really energetic and it was very funny. I like the faces on everyone when the woodcutter comes through the wall. Tof says he also liked it when you discover that the granny is actually a mega power wrestler like a gladiator. He would like his granny to be like that!
We both like the film because it shows lots of different viewpoints and everyone has a different story.
Cinema night yay! This is something we've recently started making a regular thing anyway but for the challenge we made an extra effort! Duvets were brought down, bowls of cherries and crisps were on hand (not usual cinema stuff but it was fun!) the blind was pulled down to add to the atmosphere. We chose Aladdin.....film choice is tricky in our household as Madalene finds all films have something very scary in......however as they sometimes have films at school we're practicing being brave at home so it's not an issue in front of class mates. We enjoyed this film ...Daddy remembered almost all the words from watching it lots years ago when it first came out! Oskar loved the big parade as Prince Ali first arrived at the palace and Madalene found it 'a bit scary and a bit ok'.....she liked the singing and Princess Jasmine. So a thumbs up with the promise of something less scary next time!!

Today we had a cinema morning to watch Alice in Wonderland (the original).
We made a ticket for each of us and made a bowl up of cinema treats - popcorn, mini chocolate bar, piece of fruit, and a few sweets
We also made little labels to place in the bowls saying Eat Me and Drink Me.
We were guided to our seats and had our tickets punched with a hole punch.
The sitting room was all dark and we turned up the sound just like a real cinema.
The film was a very good film. We all enjoyed it so much that we thought it was only on for five or ten minutes, when actually it was on for an hour and a half.
We've been reading the books of Alice in Wonderland, and Alice Through the Looking Glass. There were some changes to the story in the film but it was still enjoyable.
We especially liked the humour and the characters and we liked spotting the characters from the book and the events when they happened.
We think everyone should watch this film because they will hopefully enjoy it as much as we did.
Our favourite bits,
Captain and Snail - seeing the caterpillar blowing out letters
Bunny - the dodo bird telling everyone to run around to get dry even though the water kept splashing them
Owl and Mama - the singing flowers and the bread and butterflies, the rocking horsefly and CATerpillars
The boys picked out a movie at the library this morning and after tea we made some popcorn and brought down all the duvets and pillows. Zach even made me close all the curtains for the real effect. He said it was just as fun as the real cinema.
