Day 7 - positive pictures - I cut out lots of happy words to make a mirror and T decided that we are only allowed to smile when we look in this mirror.
Day 6, Shine like the sun and go to the park after school. It was very difficult to imagine the sun on this wet day, the sun is a distant memory and T say's he quit! He enjoyed the park though and I think we will go again after school when it's not quite so wet.
Day 5 - lie down and look at the fish through the bottom of a glass boat and breath like the tide.
T isn't used to relaxing on his tummy but liked the idea of looking at the fish underneath. He is holding one of the sock bunnies from a previous challenge - they are multiplying!
Ollie sat tonight before bed and asked where todays challenge was...... LOL
So I quickly looked it up and explained it. He enjoyed breathing in calmness and breathing out bad, worried and yucky things. I told him he could do it until he was relaxed. He did it for another 5 mins after I stopped talking....!!! *shock*
Eddie then decided he wanted to 'blow out baddies'
Mummy decided to join in this one. We did deep breaths and filled out living room with the magic fairy dust... (shame it didn't hide the unfinished housework LOL)
Ollie said he wished we could see the fairy dust.. The photo is us blowing into the top corner. :)
Day 2 - Ollie enjoyed being a feather foating in the wind... he decided taht he would float down in the breeze onto a river. Afterwards, he said he felt cool and calm.
The boys tried day 1 today. Ollie thought it was hilarious pretending to be melting butter. He wanted to use a playsilk to be the toast. He giggled as he said, 'I'm all warm and fuzzy and melting into the toast... I'm all gone now!'
Eddie wanted to join in and said he liked laying on the floor still.
Ollie repeated to himself the 'I am as calm as a lake' mantra throughout the day and since we were out at a lake later in the morning we talked about the calmness of the lake....
Day 4 - Deep breaths and set up a relaxation corner.
T is the master of the 'cuddle corner' which is just under the window in his room - spot the child in the picture! All the cushions in the house migrate to his room eventually because one of his very favorite things is building nests to sit in, watch films from and read in. Sometimes I get invited in and we snuggle up under blankets and watch a film together.
Day 3 - Imagine you are breathing in and out fairy dust.
T lost a tooth last night, the bag he is holding did have his tooth wrapped up in tin foil for the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy left £1 and also some magic fairy dust so it is as if you have made this challenge just for us. I was woken up this morning by T sprinking fairy dust on me so I could make a wish - I am proud of his generosity as fairy dust is hard to come by. He has put the bag in his relaxation box from yesterdays challenge. I have still to make myself a relaxation box...
Day 2, this is T's relaxation box. He has relaxation cds, an amazing head massager thing we found in poundland, a lavander alien we made ages ago, 2 bottles of nice smells, one for when he has a cold and one relaxing bedtime smells and the eyemask he made in another challenge. I think I need to make myself a relaxation box but it might have wine in it.
We have printed out the 21 day challenge and put it in a special folder. Day 1 was to imagine yourself as calm as a lake and as butter melting on toast. We both love this idea! I used a small gingerbread cutter to make butter people to actually melt on toast for a relaxing breakfast :-)
